What customers say?

“ Visited Erna's Bistro today as my husband was craving Indonesian food. Erna herself was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing. The place is small, but luckily it wasn't crowded when we went, so it felt cozy rather than cramped. This is by far the best Indonesian food we've had in Stockholm. I’d highly recommend the pepes ikan kembung, it was incredibly flavourful and packed with authentic spices. I even had a lovely chat with Kak Erna, she told me the restaurant has been open for 15 years and was actually the first Indonesian restaurant in the city. What a gem! We'll definitely be back. ”

“ Amazing hidden place! Super calm, the owner is a very cute and friendly lady. We love coming here to enjoy tasty homemade Indonesian food. We can recommend a lot :) Tempeh dish is our favourite ”

“ Authentic Indonesian food! Delicious! The food selection is pretty broad too from different places in Indonesia. My personal favorite is Ayam Bumbu Bali and (of course) Rendang! They are 4.5/5 My overall rate for the food is 4/5! Really good and you can taste the Indonesian spices! The place is nice with blooming flowers around it. So cozy and beautiful. The place is a little small so it is more suitable for small groups of 2-4. But you can make a reservation before having a big group there. ”

“ The only Indonesian restaurant in Stockholm. If you come in summer, they have nice outdoor seating. They also have weekly menus; you can ask about them at the restaurant or by visiting their Instagram. For beef and chicken, they cannot yet confirm whether they use halal meat, but they do not sell pork. So, if you are Muslim and want to try Indonesian food, the fish menu should be okay. I recommend the Pepes ikan; it is spicy but it was good. For vegan menu I would recommend Oseng Tempe and Bakmie Goreng (you could ask to replace the protein with vegan protein like tofu and tempe) I hope they can one day use halal beef, lamb, and chicken. I tried the Rendang sauce, and it was so good, unfortunately, the beef is not yet halal. Also, I suggest making a vegan Rendang from young jackfruit slices so the deliciousness of the Rendang can be tasted by more people. ”

“ If I can give it 6 stars, I would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ I recently discovered a charming little Indonesian restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The authenticity of the food was incredible, and engaging with the owner in Indonesian added a special touch. We enjoyed Rendang, kerupuk, lumpia, sate ayam, and ayam bumbu Bali, each dish bursting with authentic flavors. The rendang was perfectly soft and flavorful, and the krupuk accompanied by Sambal terasi was fabulous. The restaurant also boasts a good selection of wine and beer, even the real Teh Botol, enhancing the dining experience. Dining outdoors was a pleasure, surrounded by a chilled-out crowd and laid-back music. The ambiance was utterly relaxing, making our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving genuine Indonesian cuisine! ”

“ I always try to visit an Indonesian restaurant whenever I travel, and Erna’s Bistro did not disappoint. It’s conveniently located, not far from my hotel and easy to reach by train or bus. I was excited to find pepes wrapped in banana leaves on the menu, and the taste was truly authentic and delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, reminding me of home. A great spot for anyone craving genuine Indonesian cuisine while traveling! ”
